The sailors of the boat were saying that the volcano behind me in this picture is where the cross and the cemetery originally was built. When the volcano was active, it erupted and bulldozed the cross and the cemetery into the ocean (where I am currently standing in the picture) in the 18th century. The volcano is now a "dead volanco" (non-active).
