Unlike the geothermal features at Yellowstone NP, the NPS trail guide actually encourages the hikers to touch the water from the hot spring! Granted the temperature is not scalding hot, but it is noticibly warm. Various colored mineral and bacterial features are also visible at this area (site of the old spa).
