I'll remember the Alamo. Before being known as the Alamo (which means "cottonwood"), it was the Roman Catholic Mission de San Antonio de Valero.During the Texas Revolution, a group of Texian and Tejano men seized control of the Alamo from Mexican forces. Then, on March 6, 1836, General Antonio López de Santa Anna and his army stormed the Alamo where the famous Jim Bowie and David Crockett fought to defend its walls. After much bloodshed, Mexico won that battle and reclaimed the Alamo.
