Description:: In 1936, excavations within San Fernando Cathedral revealed a small coffin with human remains. On rather flimsy grounds it was concluded that the remains were of the defenders of the Alamo. Modern archaeologists think this is highly unlikely, and yet any visitor to the Cathedral is proudly shown the place where "Davy Crockett, William Travis, and Jim Bowie are buried."
