Description:: Friedrichshafen is a mostly industrial town. The location of ZF and Dornier made it a major target during the Second World War. The town rebuilt mostly modern and ugly but attempts were made of late to improve the look of the town with some interesting modern buildings and arty fountains. The main draw apart from the fine lakeside promenade is the Zeppelin Museum in a Bauhaus former station. It recalls the elegance of traveling in the late-1920s and 1930s.
