Description:: Lagoa das Sete Cidades (Sete Cidades' Lagoon): this lagoon is composed by two adjoining lakes, one of which looks blue and the other looks green. This lagoon is set at the base of on an extint volcanoe, so it is surronded by green lush slopes (which cannot be seen on this photo).There are several tales to explain why the lagoon has different colours on each side. One of them, tells that once upon a time a princess fell in love with a boy. The boy was poor and the king didn't want them to marry. Both were so sad and they cryed so much that two lakes were created with their tears: one is blue and the other is green because of the colour of the lover's eyes.I shoot this photo from the view point. It was a cloudy day and suddenly the sun shone through some clouds - that's why there is blue reflections at the bottom and the water at the back is greish and doesn't show any reflections.
